Day 2 June 28 Highland Mills to Highland 71 miles

Left Tony’s and Carol’s house at , first hour did not go to well, I had to navigate thru local streets. Finally I got to  Monroe where I was supposed to get on the Heritage Trail, witch was nowhere to be found. So decided to wait at the stop sign to wait for someone to ask for directions, lucky me a nice lady came out of nowhere, on a bicycle! I told her what I was looking for, she said follow me that’s where I’m headed.
So we road together for about 12 miles all the way to Goshen NY on a paved bicycle road what used to be railroad tracks. Snapped a photo said goodbye and I continued going west, not really sure where I was going :)

About 5 min later I spotted a man on a bicycle, stopped him to ask if he knew how to get to Rte 6  he said I was born and raised in this town I know every street and every short cut, follow me! Plus he said he’s father was a Indian Scout he didn’t look like an Indian  to me but I was not going to question that haha.

                                          detour

From there it was straight forward to Port Jervis, in Port Jervis I jumped on 97n and road the rest of the way along Delaware River, I had to climb some hills but over all  the ride was very enjoyable. In  Highland I stopped at a grocery store where I met guy named Johnny who directed me to a nice campground.
