Woke up at 6am got dressed ate and I was ready to go see the falls, talk to a guy day before and he said it’s very dramatic. On the way to a trail that leads to the falls I noticed that park rangers use electric carts, after investigation a little closer I was glad to see that they have an 12 V outlet, that is the only charger I have for my phone which plugs in to my solar panel, but it turns out that travel solar panels are not as effective as they say they are. So I went back to the tent to got my phone this way it could be charging while I go see the falls (45min. hike one way) park rangers did not star till 9am, I did not have much luck when I asked people to charge, on guy said his battery is low, next one gave me 15 min. and the last 1hr. :(
Well anyway… by 6:30 I was on my way to Taughannock falls, it was early so there was no other people beside me. In my opinion the approach was more dramatic than the falls itself maybe if the water level was a little higher that would add to the excitement, well judge it for yourself
I just found a deer thick crawling on my leg grgrgr
morning by lake Cayuga
river leading to the falls
almost there
The main cataract of the falls is a 215-foot drop (66 m), making it 33 feet (10 m) taller than Niagara Falls. It is one of the largest single-drop waterfalls east of the Rocky Mountain
When i came back from my hike i picked up my cell (fully charged) went back to the camp to get my bike and went to town of Taughannock about 4 mile away to find a library, it's been so long since i went to one that i was worry that i may have a hard time finding it.
The rest of the afternoon i spent updating the blog, Hey Sly! i had a really good beer for lunch it was from a local brewery don't know the name beer was called Rooster Fish, very similar to Dutches but little more summery
