Day 4 June 30 Stalker to somewhere by a stream 78 miles

Got a good night sleep, i was in my tent sleeping at 8pm. i improved my cooking and packing skills so i was on the road with in 1:15 min. Crossed the bridge back to NY continued toward town of Hancock, made it there by 9am.
First thing i did i went to radio shock to get a phone charger, i never tested the one i bought before i left.
Old Man at the store had the right charger plus he offered to charge my phone while i go get some breakfast.
Went to a local dinner had a huge omelet, 2 bags of oatmeal that i eat first thing on the morning hold me off for only about an hr.  went back to the store payed for a charger got my phone and was on my way. Before i left i asked him  about Rte 67, he said its got no shoulder and it's up hill for about 8 miles then it drops so quick that i wouldn't know what to do with myself, he said I'm better off going on highway 17 witch is still legal for bicycles but be careful because it changes into an interstate and i wont even know when, are you sure i said, o yeah i see crazy people like you on it all the time if the cops bother you tell them i sent you. So i rushed to highway 17 hoping  maybe to meet some of those crazy people but i didn't see anyone instead i got a flat, my first flat of the trip

that's the nail i pulled out of my tire

                                        next exit   shit happens

From then on i took old rout 17 all the way to Binghamton, it was a hot day.

                                        Down Town Binghamton

It was close to sunset so i had to hurry up and get out of the city, and find a place to sleep. Road for another 15 or so miles till i noticed a little stream and a dirt road leading to it, i looked to my left then i looked to my right and i disappeared in the cover of darkness :)

It happened in front of a Green acres motel, i asked the owner if could change it on he"s property, he said sure  and went to get me some ice water. We started talking and it turned out that Mr Ken was originally is from Wallington he's wife Maria was from Garfield and i'm from Clifton, so there we were standing there and in my head  representing the TRI-STATE of Polish Comunnity, Clifton, Garfield and Wallington, i just thought it was funny.(for those that don't know those are 3 towns next to each other with high number of people of Polish descend) In about 30min. i was back on the road.  I continued on 17 about 20 min. into the ride i see a car in the corner of my eye driving next to me, i looked up and there she was a state trooper. Luckly no fine just a worrning and i had to get off on the next exit.

  1. Your campsite looks beautiful. Nice place to rest and cool down after a brutally hot day.
I did almost 40 miles yesterday, but in +96F degrees it was no fun whatsoever.
Going to Acadia tomorrow. Hopefully it would be nice - they forecast 73-80F for the next 5 days.
